Bioapplications
Technology
Our precise manufacturing processes at the microscopic level enable us to create complex two- and three-dimensional structures that are essential for replicating tissues and organs. Our technology opens up new pathways for customised tissue constructs and implants that meet individual requirements and biological characteristics. Our microtechnology enables the integration of specific cell types, biomaterials and growth factors in tissue fabrication, leading to improved cell interaction and tissue integration, providing new tools for regenerative medicine.
Your task
Do you have a task on microscale tissue constructs for tissue engineering?
You want to control cells or biological tissue in two or three dimensions?
Are you interested in aspects such as biocompatible materials, drug release and microfluidics?
Our Expertise
In our interdisciplinary team, we develop technologies for biomedical applications. For example, we produce cell-specific scaffolds for tissue engineering. The picture shows a microporous scaffold for cell cultivation.
Important aspects can be, for example: Customisable 3D design and porosity, excellent structural quality < 1µm, biocompatible and stable, transparent, controllable autofluorescence.
Application Examples
In tissue and organ regeneration, microtechnology is revolutionising the production of complex tissue constructs. By precisely controlling microstructures and cell placement, functional tissues can be grown in the lab, microfluidics can be used to target them, and microsensors can be used to measure important parameters directly in situ. This technology has the potential to revolutionise regenerative medicine and help patients with severe health problems.
